My painting of Tom Waits (as a geisha) will be on exhibit and available for sale in an upcoming show here in San Francisco. With all the artwork inspired by Tom Waits, the man and his music, this show should be excellent.
I am proud to report that “Troubadour” was selected for a Juror’s Choice Award!
The curator Andrea Schwartz had this to say:
“The painting entitled “Troubadour” by Patrushka, told the story so well of the Tom Waits song “Big in Japan”. The perfect quote from this song that related to the painting for me was “I’m big in Japan, I’m big in Japan, but heh I’m big in Japan”. In my opinion, the artist truly captured the mood of this song. “
