The War On Women - a body of art addressing abortion and abuse
Art depicting the emotional trauma of illegal abortions, abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence. These portraits convey the long overdue need for equal rights for women - they should not be victims to be hunted or forced into giving birth.

Savita Halappanavar was a dentist of Indian origin, living in Ireland, who died from sepsis after her request for an abortion was denied on legal grounds. She was denied an abortion by doctors who cited the country’s strict laws, even though there was no chance her baby would survive. Praveen Halappanavar said that a doctor told him an abortion couldn’t be performed because “this is a Catholic country.”
