abandoned places and scenes
Once We Were Here contains landscape and urban scenes, occasionally with a surreal juxtaposition. Often of abandoned places or forgotten things, void of human life. Sometimes with an apocalyptic feel, or a future world in which the environment has been altered by humanities presence. Many questions were inspirations – who lived here? Where have they gone? And often an appreciation for long gone vintage styles in architecture or rustic hand painted signage.
Tacos
Tacos
While on a road trip from the Bay Area north to Oregon, I spotted this taco place. It was a small town just off the 5 freeway, hot and somewhat barren, maybe around Willows? Wish I had made a note of it so I could give this vintage beauty a location. The great retro lettering all fading away just captured my eyes. Had to paint it.
